Utilizing the parametric design software Grasshopper, I developed a script which is able to replicate the lattice structure of “Chidori”, most notably used in Kengo Kuma’s GC Prostho Museum. The software allows the user to either “sculpt” an object out of the lattice structure, or “fill” an object of their own creation with the lattice structure. I used the latter technique to create a small lamp as a proof a concept. While currently it is limited to a digital 3D model, sectional test 3D prints have proven that it would be suitable to physically fabricate.
