an architectural portfolio

The design process, for me, has never been a purely academic endeavour it has always been something which is centered around working with my hands. Long before I enrolled at the University of Oregon, I was in the shop: learning to read grain, to feel the give of a kerf cut, to understand how materials want to move. That foundation shapes everything I have done in the last 5 years. Whether I'm developing a structural timber system capable of supporting cantilevered concrete, scripting a parametric lattice in Grasshopper, or hand-drafting a section perspective at two in the morning, I approach design as both an intellectual problem and a physical one and I think that combination is rare enough to matter.

My studio work at Oregon has pushed me to engage with architecture at its most socially meaningful: a visitor center responding to Frank Lloyd Wright's only Oregon project; climate-resilient multifamily housing on wildfire-vulnerable land; a prefabricated emergency shelter system designed around dignity and community, not just square footage; a literary complex rooted in Eugene's counter-cultural print history. Across these projects, a few consistent preoccupations have emerged: how people move through and between spaces, how material choices can be simultaneously contextual and forward-looking, how buildings meet the ground. I'm drawn to work that carries weight beyond its program, where good design and genuine need are treated as the same thing. I'm looking for a firm that shares that instinct, and where I can keep building.
